Vaygr Prime - Triple Max Prison by NeroVII Vaygr Prime - Triple Max Prison by NeroVII
Vaygr Prime is the most inescapable and desolate worlds known to mankind and is host to the toughest Triple Max Prison in the system, holding some of the galaxy's roughest inmates this prison has had a growing reputation for the strong intolerance for crime in the Core Worlds. The recent conquest of the Core Worlds by the Hyraculan Solar Empire has rendered all other prisons in the Vaygr system inoperable. Vaygr Prime is now the very last Triple Max Prison in the system and now the HSE Grand Imperial Armada has arrived on the scene in high orbit. The Imperial siege engine has just begun it's assault.

-Lots of Terragen II renders used for the landscape with heavy modifications in PS.
-Everything else was done in Photoshop CS6.
-Original image size: 2,000px x 900px.
-Terragen render time: approx 10min-15min per render.

I like the "movie" like lens flares and the perspective of the upper planet. It's really well done.. Overall this is really stunning work. Only thing what kinda catches my eye is that smaller planet or moon on the left side. I think it's just a bit too much and it looks like it doesn't belong there.. Maybe it should be smaller or something. It doesn't ruin this beautiful work tough and it's just my opinion. :)

Thanks.
Yeah it could have been smaller. It was originally intended to be bigger to show scale. I guess it might be too much.

Firstly Id like to say that the composition of your image is fairly well done. I think with some of them you fall into the excessive lens flare trap that so many do. As a previous commenter hinted, a lot of your images do look out of focus or 'blurry". It sorta reminds me of screenshot from a DVD rather then a screenshot from a Blu-Ray. I feel that you could really improve your images by sticking to the 'less is best' rule. I'm looking at the terrain along the bottom of the image and that overlaying texture is quite dominant and distracting particularly on the large rocks to the right. I think if you reduced the intensity of the lensflares and really worked hard on sharpening up and possibly simplifying your images they would be absolutely incredible. Hope you don't take this critique to heart and take what I've said positively rather then negatively.

The overlapping texture was a poor choice of nodes in Terragen 2, I did that when I was still new to Terragen.

The less is more rule doesn't apply here, my over all goal was to make a deep space cool thin-aired uninhabitable prison world, in which inmates cannot escape.

It's what I like to call "circumstancial over embellishment", it might be a 1 in a thousand chance that a planetoid may look like this, it just happens that this is that 1 planetoid that does. My other pieces exhibited toned down colors and lighting.

& no offence taken, it was just your take on my artwork. Btw you look like you have some nice work in your galleries too, however I cannot tell if you made the textures yourself, or if they are stock images.

Ill have to look into Terragen 2, I've never heard of it but it looks like some amazing landscapes can be done with it. And yeah, it was just my opinion. I only commented cause I feel your work is half way between great and incredible (again only my take on it). By no way was I suggesting I don't like your work. I hope i'll be this good one day, just a few things I would have done differently. But we're all different and your own style is what makes your work unique. Keep it up man.

You know, this looks completely bad-ass, though do I sense a Homeworld 2 Reference?
